Parts of the museum are pretty cool. But the idea behind the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is diametrically opposed to everything rock is supposed to stand for. Things like freedom, rebellion and creativity are impossible to adequately codify, and having I.M. Pei design a building in Cleveland can't change that. There's no shortage of arguments on this subject -- check Google, if you have the time. Or, take a look at this statement from the Sex Pistols, kindly declining their invitation to next month's ceremony by comparing the hall to a "piss stain."
This might be the greatest thing I have ever seen. It's just so ... well, anti-authoritarian, for sure. But there's also a kind of cracked purity in slagging off the entire music industry when the powers that be are trying to charge you to do something nice. When people describe something as "punk-rock," THIS is what they mean.

"We're not your monkey ..."
Well, it was awesome when Jon Stewart said it to Tucker Carlson, and it's still awesome coming from the Sex Pistols.

Their usage of "you're" as "your" is so punk rock!
