Kelly Clarkson tour back on

Better late than never: Pop singer Kelly Clarkson has rescheduled her cancelled summer concert tour, and the new outing includes a stop Oct. 21 at Mohegan Sun.

Promoter Live Nation pulled the plug in June on Clarkson's planned summer arena tour, citing disappointing advance-ticket sales. Her new itinerary has Clarkson performing mostly in smaller venues, such as the Beacon Theatre in New York, where the tour opens Oct. 14. There are a handful of arena dates on the schedule, including Mohegan Sun Arena, where Clarkson had been scheduled to perform last month.

Despite concerns from her record label, Clarkson's latest album, "My December," debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and sold more than 300,000 copies in its first week of release, a respectable number in an era of declining record sales.

Tickets for the Mohegan date go on sale Sept. 15 for $75, $55 and $35.
