If you're looking for a reason why "The Bachelor" eliminated Danielle Imwalle of Bethel in the second to lasts episode of the season Monday, there really wasn't one given.
"I had to go with my heart," Lt. Andy Baldwin told her in giving his two remaining roses to Bevin Powers and Tessa Horst. He may have been referring to another organ, though, judging from the ranking he gave physical attrraction.
From everything in the episode, it seemed Danielle was one of the strongest of the remaining candidates for him. After trips to Hawaii with all three women (who all three accepted the salacious invitation to the all-night "fantasy suite"), he described Danielle to his best friend as "incredibly strong." "Seeing how solid she is and so nurturing she is made me more attracted to her," he claimed.
Besides, he said he had at least one issue with each of the women he chose to continue on the show -- Tessa wasn't as into him as she could have been, and Bevin may not have had the emotional underpinning for all the physical attraction (plus, she was married before, has a lot of tattoos and, he told his friend, "is a lot more liberal than I am" though nothing in the episode seemed to indicate that their politics came up. Next week, however, she apparently tells his parents she was raised in the B'hai faith, which gets a raised eyebrow in Lancaster, Penn.).
Danielle, for her part, kept her composure though she started crying in the limousine. "I've been through a lot," she said while being whisked away from a guy she won't see again (there is no reunion or "Girls tell all" show this season). "I just feel I just deserve to be happy."
She was referring in part to the death of her college boyfriend, which came up again, and Andy was satisfied that she'd gone past her grief and become a stronger person for it. (She did, however, wear a black dress to the rose ceremony, which at any rate portended her luck as well as stood out amid the floral prints of Hawaii). At least, she said sadly in the limo, "I got a little more closure this time than I did last time."
Danielle can console herself with the fact that she had gotten further than anybody from Connecticut had gotten in any network reality show. If that helps.
