A Norwich native named Jasmine will be among the beauties paired up with geeks when the fourth season of "Beauty and the Geek" begins Sept. 18 on The CW.
The 22-year-old Jasmine, listed with no last name on the network press release, is currently a nanny in Columbus, Ohio.
She’ll be among the youngest women of the 10 who will take part in the new season of the show co-created by Ashton Kutcher, playing opposite a bunch of brainy geeks. The idea, as usual, is to see if the girls can use their brain and the guys can come out of theirs long enough for one couple to win the $250,000 grand prize.
It's not a dating show, but teammates do bunk together for some reason and romances between at least one nerd and one beauty have occurred in past seasons.
New this year is a team that will consist of "a hot guy and a geeky girl" (whose identities were not announced) team that will compete against the others. It's just a small example of what network officials said long ago would be a natural turnabout season for the franchise -- all geeky girls with hot guys.
Among the challenges this season: the guys performing an autobiographical rap at a nightclub and vying for prom king; the girls engaging in a topical debate and becoming substitute third grade teachers.
