It is a Hartford area aerospace firm, we are proud to discover, that will launch into space the cremated remains of “Star Trek” cast member James Doohan this fall.
The Farmington-based UP Aerospace will launch the ashes of Doohan, along with that of actual astronaut Gordon Cooper as well as 118 other people you’ve never heard of, whose families paid for space on the rocket to be shot from New Mexico in October.
And you can almost hear his character Scotty reacting to this commercial ash blast into space in his excitable brogue: “Captain, it’s never been done!”
